South Australian archives

State Library of South Australia holds private, business and society archives.
Archival Database contains personal, business and society archives and the J.D.Somerville Oral History Collection.
South Australiana Database lists photographs and other pictorial material from the Library's collections, and references to articles and other citations from selected South Australian published material held in the Library.
Searches across all State Library catalogues can be undertaken using Metafind, available at the bottom of their catalogue page

State Records
holds records of the State Government, semi-Government or statutory authorities and local government bodies.
Colonial records relating to issues that became Commonwealth responsibilities in 1901 were transferred to the National Archives of Australia
eg Customs, Defence,  Maritime, Post and Telegraph, Quarantine, Security etc etc.

State Records is in a process of change.

Contains information contributed by libraries, archives, museums and historical societies on their holdings of personal papers and records of non-government organisations. Can be searched by name, occupation, or other terms.

National Register of Archives (NRA) contains information on the nature and location of manuscripts and historical records that relate to British history

BOPCRIS : the British Official Publications Collaborative Reader Information Service. 
You can use this web site to search and browse information from British Official Publications over the period 1688-1995, many of which have been digitised.
